compete daily earn floor guys noticed players
I noticed the same thing you noticed. I told him and I have told all of our players -- nothing is given. You earn your minutes. You earn what you get. What we're going to do is put guys on the floor that are going to compete on a daily basis.
counter far knowing main might option options run tendencies totally
So with different personnel, you can run the same play, but your option that might be one of your main options for one team, for the other team, it might be a whole totally different option. So they have a familiarity in knowing some things you want to run, some tendencies as far as what you're going to do. But we're kind of a counter puncher. You come out, we jab, we jab, we see what you're going to throw, and then we counter-punch that.
head overlook
You can't overlook everything he's done for this organization and for me as a head coach.
ended mean repeat tigers
The significance of the Tigers going 35-5 is that they ended up being world champions. If we can repeat what they did, then it would really mean something.
difference guard guys playing shape teams
He's playing and getting in shape and he makes a difference in games. Guys on opposing teams typically don't want Lindsey to guard them.
coming weight
It's like he's coming out of the weight room.
adapt bit hard
My thing is, if you're going to let them play, let them play. There was a little bit of inconsistency, so it was hard to adapt to that.
rip shots
If you give Rip (Hamilton) shots and he's in rhythm, he'll often make those shots.
bench both chicago game good minutes needed plays
Going into this game we needed the bench to give us both good minutes and good production, which they did. Chicago plays physical, they play hard. But to our credit, we can play that way.
couple exhibition games good guys last lost recall regular start
I think I recall that we lost our last couple games in the exhibition season, and we got off to a pretty good start with the regular season. These guys have been there. They know that this is when it all begins.
ankle sit today
He's better today than he was Tuesday, and you don't want to sit him out and have the ankle get weaker.
charles four game giving great guys halftime helped played playing run second talk thank
I have to thank Charles (Barkley) for giving a great halftime talk when he said the game was over. I thought we were playing too perfect, but in the second half we played exceptionally well. When our four guys (four All-Stars from Detroit) were in we started to run some plays, and I think that helped us.
coming players toughest wants
It's one of those things, if you put him out there for 10 minutes, he wants 15. If you put him out there for 15, he wants 20. That's the toughest thing about young players coming to championship-caliber teams.
finally tired until
He finally got tired at the end. I told him that, the way he was rolling, we were going to him until he couldn't move.
