Running 26 miles is quite a commitment. Just to be able to say that your body can handle that kind of abuse is a badge of honor. I thought the club was a wonderful idea. It's a good way for the students to channel their energies, and running is a lifelong activity they can do forever.

After settling down and proving herself by getting a couple wins, I think she felt more accepted and like she'd really earned a spot there. She's turned out to be one of the most popular in the group. It seems there's daily, almost hourly, contact between she and some of the others. You know those girls and their cell phones.

Yes (I was happy with their performance). I'm not sure about the other teams, but I was very happy that we were very competitive. That's what I like about indoor meets because they get the competitive juices flowing.
