Rural people have told us that their perception of this is it's a city bonspiel. The city guys get to sleep in their own beds, while the rural guys shell out all kinds of money. The casual, fun type of curling that they used to participate in is not worth the $1,000 it's going to cost if you are planning to come in and spend a whole week here.
envision event point seeing time
Can I ever envision a time when there is no MCA Bonspiel? No. But I can see the possibility of, at some point in time, it being a much different event than we are seeing today.

It was a fabulous success from all accounts -- including the curlers. Some volunteers even said they could use a bigger place if they were going to do it again.

There still is an interest. ... It's still the world's largest single-event bonspiel by far. It's still a unique historical event, and we'd like to maintain that.
business clubs good maybe might trying
That's a good question. Maybe the clubs have to get more involved. ... It's their curlers that we are trying to satisfy. Getting us out of the bonspiel business might be something we will look at down the road.

We're optimistic that hopefully we can finalize a new agreement with them soon. It was a very strong event, and that should help.
