I think a lot of sides would have left it maybe a little bit earlier.

The pitch did a bit this morning, and we lost a few wickets. But Shaun played magnificently and showed the value of his experience.

batting becomes bit goes good
It's a wicket that goes around a bit and then becomes a good batting wicket.
australia ball early played strike took
We had to strike early with the new ball and we did. Unfortunately, Australia took it to us, played aggressively and took their chances.

I woke up this morning and it was all right and I didn't have any worries with it today.

I still rate the one I got against Australia as my number one, but it was my first and that's always special,

We arrived this morning really believing we could win it, obviously we needed a few things to go our way.
australia deserved knew played strike
We knew we had to strike early, and we managed that. But Australia played as aggressively as they have all series, and in the end they deserved to win.
against baggy black caps challenge danger days define forward guys hard huge instead looking means mentally nice playing prepared series seriously taking
We've got a new challenge with the series against New Zealand. It'll be nice to see some black caps out there instead of the baggy green. So we're looking forward to that challenge. There is the danger that we've been playing some very hard cricket, but we've got 10 days off, which means the guys can go away and get mentally prepared for New Zealand. It's a huge series for us. I think it's a series that could define our season. We're going to be taking it very seriously - it's a very big series for us.
bad batting needed patient position strong waiting
Fortunately Ashy and I managed to get one going but we just needed to be patient and keep building, waiting for the bad ball. Fortunately it's put us in a strong position after batting first at the SCG, which is what you need to do.
But this one was right up there especially after we were 118 for six.
following good matter ourselves position
We've put ourselves in a good position now and it's just a matter of following through.
five preferred
We would have preferred to have been five down at the close.
