Our staff did a good job of getting ahead in the count with many of their hitters. They are a great hitting ball club. Benton did an exceptional job for us.

The kid (catcher) had him blocked off at the plate and he went to the outside and was able to sneak by there before the catcher got the tag on him.

There's certain things you have to do to win a big game. We didn't do the little things. We controlled our own destiny, but let it get away.

We did a good job of working the counts and getting good pitches to hit.
bunch double hits hurt plays
We didn't bunch enough hits together. The two double plays really hurt us.
bottom kids last pick talking weight
We had been talking to the kids in that the bottom of the lineup had to do something and pick up some weight too. They have responded here the last four-five games.
