toughest trying year
This has probably been the toughest year in my big-league career, trying to come back from everything.
stop
He couldn't even speak; he couldn't stop crying,
drag father mean moved pathetic sad sell
I think it's pretty pathetic they want to drag my father into this. I've moved on. I mean that's just sad that someone would try and do that to sell a book.
basis care consistent guys shut tip walk
He can go out on a consistent basis and shut you out, ... I don't care what lineup you have. When he's on, he's on. He's like one of those guys ? Hudson, Mulder, Rocket, Randy. When Randy's on, you just tip your cap, and it's like 'Just let me try to get a walk and be 0-for-3.'
bit came coming deer easier headlights media
I think it's going to be a little bit easier for Johnny. He's coming over from Boston. I think he has already been through it. He's not going to have the deer in the headlights (look), where I came over from Oakland and the media outweighs the players.
felt hit
I haven't hit one like that in a while. That felt good.
audience love
For Johnny, this is perfect. The audience is just bigger. He'll love this stuff.
contract everybody goal gotten veteran worry
Everybody's goal is to win. When you're a veteran player, you don't worry about getting your numbers, because everybody here has gotten their contract and has gotten paid. It's all about winning, and to do that, you have to concentrate on the little things.
bit great love
I love being in that spot, and it's great to come through. Hopefully, this will get us going and get us on a little bit of a tear.
definitely hard hard-work work
It's unbelievable. I'm speechless. I'm definitely honored. It's been a lot of hard work and a long road.
chance gave hold run unit
That's the Big Unit we all know and love. He dominated, gave us a chance to win, and made one run hold up. That's what he's done in his whole career.
chance kept reason win
Jaret Wright's the reason why we had a chance to win tonight. He kept his composure.
breaking good roll trying
I was trying to get him to roll over, ... I got a lot of outs on my breaking ball. It was a good pitch.
last sick
It's unbelievable, especially after everything that I've battled through, ... It's exciting, especially after being sick last year.
