ball chances defense game good results seeing sloppy steals taking transition
Steals are a double-edged sword. It's good to get the transition game started, but it also results in sloppy defense by taking chances and not seeing the ball as well as we should.
bad begin breaks comfort fingers girls impatience missing normally panic point shots start takes taking worry
It's more impatience than anything else. The shots we're taking aren't bad shots, but they're not comfortable shots. The girls panic when the play breaks down, and then we begin to worry or point fingers at each other which takes us out of our comfort level. Then we start missing baskets we'd normally make, and it snowballs.
depth difference equal everybody game good played playing transition
I thought we got out to a good start, had the transition game going pretty well. Everybody played well, everybody had about equal playing time, so our depth made the difference in the game.
capitalize fell game great hard hope short team three
I think we made some mistakes, and a great team like Centralia will capitalize. It's hard to play the same team three times, especially when you see the same game plan. You hope for the right adjustments and capitalize where you have advantages. We just fell a little short today.
bench blessing flow game great hard people talented
We have a lot of depth. Our bench people did a great job, but it's hard to get in the flow of the game when you rotate people in and out. It's a real blessing having this many talented players, and I wouldn't give up any of them.
dominating hold performance team wear
We were able to wear them down pretty quickly. It was a pretty dominating performance right from the get-go, especially defensively to hold a team to 34 points. That's pretty remarkable.
good hopefully match multiple nicole plays run shooting
Harmon is a very good shooting guard. And they run a lot of plays for her off multiple screens. Nicole will match up with her defensively, and hopefully we can neutralize her.
ball defense felt good ourselves second sharing shot stepped stopped stretch win
We felt pretty good about ourselves in the first half. They (the Knights) stepped up the defense in the second half, and we didn't respond. We got a little impatient, stopped sharing the ball and shot it too quickly. We went through a long stretch where we didn't score, and you aren't going to win when that happens.
adversity felt four freshmen girls losing ran signed successful team
We were emotionally up-and-down during the preseason. We started out 4-1 and felt really good, but then we ran into some adversity by losing four in a row. The girls started questioning themselves, and a lot of the freshmen thought they were going to be part of a successful team when they signed on.
energy great job led
We did an outstanding job on the boards, led by Stacey, who had great energy.
challenge circumstance felt game good including meet playing second though time tough tournament travel
Even though we lost, I felt it was a game we could've won. There were some tough circumstances we were facing, including playing the second day of a tournament after having to travel a significant distance. I think we'll meet the challenge this time and have a good game.
eighth finishing game hit last pull remarkable together tournament ups win
Finishing eighth is remarkable for this team. We had a lot of ups and downs, but to pull it together and do as well as we did in the tournament was unexpected. When we hit adversity, we sometimes drifted. In Saturday's game with Whatcom, we surged through that and got a win to get to the last day, which was our goal.
hit last leader leaders proud shots step team
She has started for us the last two years. We are a first place team and she is the leader of that first-place team. That's what leaders do. They hit shots like that. I'm proud to see her step up.
fed hitting rest shots team tone
Many of our sophomores have been here before, and they set the tone by hitting some shots early. The rest of the team fed off that.
