No disrespect to the point guards who were here in the past, but Baron's the type of point guard that makes everybody better. He gets in the lane and just finds guys. I been waiting for a guy like him to come and he took my game to another level.
It's only one game. We can't be too overconfident, but it's a step in the right direction.
I thought we were having a contest on who could get to 50 first.
I was always getting the short end of the stick.
He's averaging 30 points, so you want to go out there and match him.
He could have got it, but Baron's all about winning; he's not worried about individual stats. I think he knew he only needed one rebound, but he just came to the bench because we won the game.
Huge. We're on a nine-game losing streak. We were playing on national TV. We didn't want to go out and embarrass ourselves getting blown out in the game.
Neither team played defense. A lot of guys scored points and there was a lot of foul shooting and a lot of fouling. If we could have made a couple of stops, we would have won the game.
I think it's a sense of urgency. When we have our backs to the wall and we need to win a game, I think we really focus in. We've got to find a way to have that sense of urgency, whether it's a seven-game winning streak or a seven-game losing streak, every time we step on the floor if we want to make the playoffs this year.
The young guys got a lot of talent. Right now, they're playing with their talent, and they're playing better than what we expected of them.
I'm a jumper, he's a passer. So there's going to be some spectacular plays going on.
I look at Baron as the Steve Nash factor. Phoenix had all these guys, but they weren't winning. They got Steve Nash and they won. I look at Baron as that missing piece that helps us win.
It's the first road win of the season and when you play at the Garden, you always want to win.
