attention breaks enjoyed game god hard next pay position single thank
That breaks the ice. Now, next game I should feel a little more comfortable. It's a hard position to play. You have to pay attention on every single play. But it's fun, I enjoyed it, and thank God I wasn't bad.
acted game happened leave lose quietly
When we'd lose a game we acted like nothing happened, not the end of the world. We'd leave quietly and come back like nothing happened the day before.
chemistry lost
We lost the chemistry on the team, and things haven't been the same,
chance track
There is no chance for me to get back on track by not playing.
brought came catcher guess guy job last playoffs says tremendous
He's a guy I admire, and I guess he did a tremendous job with the Padres last year. As you know, the Padres haven't been in the playoffs for so many years. He came up and brought them (there), and that says a lot about what kind of catcher he is.
base fact guess spring
I actually wanted it. I guess the fact that I was working so much at first base during spring training, I kind of (cut) back my hitting.
anyone bad ball barry expects hard hits pitch pitches sees swing swings
Vladimir hits the ball as hard as anyone in the league. He swings and hits bad pitches. He sees so many bad pitches, he expects a bad pitch every time. Barry is different because he will not swing at a bad pitch. But Guerrero hits bad pitches out of the stadium.
listen mad
You better listen to Leo. You don't want him mad at you.
great knew
We all knew they had great pitching, ... but with our offense, we should have done better than we did.
ball call looking obviously passed time umpire wondering
Me and Tejada were looking at the umpire the whole time, wondering what kind of call he was going to make. We were wondering if the ball was out or (Erstad) got it in his glove. One umpire called an out, so obviously Tejada went back to first base. Then the other umpire said the ball was out. But by the time he made the call, I had already passed Tejada.
base catcher certain leaning older point
The older I get the more I am leaning to first base than catching. I can just play catcher to a certain point because of my knees.
base few instead rally umpire
There were a few pitches, in my opinion, the umpire missed. That's when the rally really started. Instead of getting a strikeout, there was a base hit. There were a few like that.
baseball fans played puerto
This is what Puerto Rico and Puerto Rico fans are all about. This is how baseball should be played all the time.
four help last three
We're all motivated. We're all positive. We help each other. If somebody's not doing it, the other one's going to back you up. That's what we've been doing for the last three or four series.
