He was a fine referee, but what I am going to remember most is that he was a great human being. He did a tremendous job on the ice, but what he did after he hung up his skates was amazing. He never refused to help an organization. And then there was the many thousands of speeches he made, not only in Montreal and in Quebec, but all across Canada.
