He has become the point guard we needed him to become. He gives us passion. He pushes it up the floor and penetrates. The one thing he has to add to his game is poise. Today, he had poise when they were making their run.
disagree hard hate lighter steve weight worked
I don't think it's a fact, actually, ... I think he's the same weight that he has been, and the lighter for him has been the better. When he's been able to keep his weight about 305 (pounds), I think he's better served. But he has worked hard to be stronger. I hate to disagree with Steve once again, but so be it.

I played my bench too much in that quarter.
cast feels genuinely great late
He was late again. Nothing malicious. He's a great guy, a great guy. I think he feels genuinely bad. He just has got to be responsible, accountable. I think he understands that. He doesn't want to be cast and shouldn't be as problematic. He's not that.

It depends on what you want to do. If that's your focus, you can do it.
advice affected anybody believe glad good guys reward teams took
One of the things I really do believe is - and it would've affected our two guys this year, so it wouldn't have been good - I don't believe anybody on sub-.500 teams should be in the All-Star game. It should be all a reward for winning. Now that would affect our guys which, I'm glad no one took my advice for this year.

It depends on who the one is. We hope he keeps improving.

I'd rather see a guy who has a lot of confidence than throw out that guy (who is) like a deer in headlights, ... I'm not really concerned with him right now.

I don't look any more forward than the time when we were injured. Your job as a coach is to maximize the abilities of what is on hand at any given time.
basketball caring character easy good passing starts
I feel he has good basketball character, or we wouldn't have done it. Basketball character is important, and basketball character starts with working and passing and caring about your teammates. I think he does those things. It wasn't an easy decision, but it was, I think, the right one for us.

There will be a lot of sacrifices that have to be made. We've sort of protected ourselves in case we're not as healthy as we hope to be. If everybody's healthy, there's only 240 minutes to go around. It'll be challenging.

He's already told me some things. I would just say this: When we meet, frank discussion between owner and coach is always valuable. I welcome anything he has to say and I will reciprocate with anything I think is necessary going forward to make us who we want to be.
