les luxury mistakes salary situations tax
I think Les has even said it. The luxury tax is our salary cap. The thing that's different in the situations is that you can't make mistakes in our situation with who you sign.
aggressive assertive percentage shoot shots win
I thought (McGrady) was doing that right before he was hurt, being very aggressive and assertive but more efficient, and getting Yao more shots so that we can shoot a percentage that can win in this league.
both decided fond great guys hope hurts injuries interested opportunity pick point rockets stay talked though together works
I talked to him about (that) we need to pick up a point guard, and also he had an opportunity out there to go and I think play for Denver. We talked about it. I think he decided it was not something he was interested in doing. We told him we were going to waive him. He decided I think to retire. I hope something works out to where he can stay in the Rockets organization. He's a great guy. Even though we were only together for a little more than a year, I was as fond of him and (Bob) Sura as any two guys I've ever coached. Personally, it hurts a lot that both had injuries that impacted them and us.
allen arenas body far gets last neither package size tape teaching team
I think in the last quarter, neither team would use it on a teaching tape for defense. I know Gilbert Arenas gets credit, but he's Allen Iverson in a different package as far as body size and strength. He's competitive. He's quick. He attacks. He makes 3s.
course last midway year younger
Midway through their year last year, they set a course for how they want to go, which was younger and quicker,
contest finally god hitting home run thank until
That'd be like a home run hitting contest where you don't hit it out and you get to do it over until you do hit it out. Thank God he finally made one.
clue coach
That coach has no clue what he's doing. That's what I say when I look at myself.
best center game guys maybe numbers people playoffs reason reduce stands
My thing about numbers is that people who write about the game should never look at Yao Ming and reduce what he stands for to numbers. Some other guys will maybe play better in the playoffs at times. But he is the best regular-season center in basketball. And the reason is he comes to play every night.
deserve fourth inside intensity level outside selection shot versus
That was a very disappointing fourth quarter. (The) level of defense, the intensity was not correct, and the shot selection was outside in, versus inside out. That's very disappointing, and we deserve what we got.
defense missing partly shots
That was probably part defense and probably partly them missing shots they can make.
assertive charts far passionate played
That was by far the most passionate that McGrady has played in some time. I thought he was off the charts tonight, just very assertive on offense, vocal, on the board, defensively - I just thought he was great.
paid
We're not paid to try hard. That should be a given. We're paid to produce.
ball bit guard half help ready second sleepy turned
We didn't guard the ball well and we didn't help appropriately. I think they (the Hornets) were probably sleepy a little bit, not ready to play. I had a little bit to do with it. They turned it up in the second half and we had no response.
ball guard help
We didn't guard the ball well and we didn't help appropriately.
