accurate gone management poor second unless
It was poor management on my part. I should've gone out after the second one and said, 'Don't try it unless you can make a strong, accurate throw.' I should've told him before the game.
crucial nobody talks
LaRue's play is one that nobody talks about. That was the big play in a crucial part of the game.
baseball bay everybody good knows outfield playing seattle tampa top
I think everybody in baseball knows he's a good player. Playing in Tampa Bay like he did and then going to Seattle ... when you play in the same outfield with Ichiro (Suzuki), you're not going to be top dog, that's for sure.
chance gave win
We pitched well. It gave us a chance to win some games.
deserve good innings win wrong
We did so many things wrong that we didn't deserve to win that game. I don't even know how we were in it. But you're going to have innings like that. They've got some good hitters.
against chance facing hitter three
Holbert is a little better hitter than Olmedo against left-handers, ... And this was a chance to give Holbert a start. We're facing three left-handers in a row, so probably we'll play both.
ballpark drive ended trying
He was just trying to drive it to the big part of the ballpark and get one, and he ended up getting all three.
count early good guys looked missing pitches sure thinking
He looked like he had pretty good movement. I don't know if they were sliders or cutters away from right-handed hitters. I'm sure when we're making outs early in the count like that, our guys are thinking they're getting good pitches to hit, and they were just missing them.
believe care expect guys happy lower park pitch runs wherever
I don't care what park you pitch in, I expect you to get guys out. I think if you lower your expectations, you'll have guys happy to give up some runs sometimes. I just believe in wherever you're pitching, you go out there and try not give up a run. If you give up a run, you try not give up two.
close percent
He'll be able to pinch-run and play the outfield. I don't think he's close to being 100 percent with the bat.
best everybody fun game healthy players season thankful watch
He is one of the best ever to play the game, he is still one of the better players in the game today, one of the elite. It is so much fun to watch him and I'm just thankful he is healthy and having a season where he can let everybody see that he can still do it.
ballgame hits homer huge time
We got some big hits from Dunn and Griffey. Griff's big three-run homer was huge for us at the time of the ballgame ... I like the way we played.
good hit needed
We had some chances, and we had some pretty good at-bats, but we had nothing to show for it. We just didn't get a big hit when we needed it.
careless couple errors giving guys help pitching routine throwing tried
There have been a couple of errors where guys have tried to do too much. We've had some errors that are just careless throwing errors. We can not make careless errors. You're going to have enough errors without just giving away bases. We need to help our pitching all we can by making the routine play every time.
