It was just so weird in the way things happened. People finally got interested and realized they could make a difference. Politicians, state legislators in particular, recognized that they don't operate in a vacuum.

I think both of them avoid some of the tainted stuff from the pay raise because neither of them are incumbents, so I don't think they're going to be tarred and feathered with the same stick as incumbents.
