allowed double lewis post reluctant thomas
The more threes they made, the more reluctant we were to play the post with a big-to-big double (team). We couldn't double with a guard. Every one of those threes were like daggers. They allowed Lewis and Thomas to do what they wanted.
built
That's something that should never happen. We've built too much up over the years for something like that to happen.
five guy plays row run sure
I'm not sure we have a guy who we can run five plays in a row to.
good greatest guard mind point shooter takes three track worked
Rashad doesn't mind who he takes a three on. We put him at point guard and every play worked its way to be for him. That's kind of unusual. He will be on track to be the greatest 3-point shooter we've ever had here, and we've had some pretty good ones.
entire happy maintain played time
It's the first time he's done that in his entire career. It's the first time he's been able to maintain that. He played exceptionally well, I was really happy for him.
court games last league played scare small spread win year
They played some big games last year without Curtis. They can still win the league but it's going to be tougher. They scare me because of the way they spread the court and make you play small ball.
beginning country east goal good great last national notch ours programs time total
It's always good to be No. 1 in anything but it's not great at this time of year. I want it at the beginning of April, but I'll take it now. Being No. 1 isn't a goal of ours like the Big East championship or the national championship, but we feel we're one of the better programs in the country for the last 15 years and being No. 1 is another notch for us as a total program.
desire easy facing four gets good incredible predict route teams time
You can?t predict this thing ... two, three, four all gone. How do you predict these things? The whole idea that No. 1 gets the easy route ... there are no easy routes. Those teams at 16 are really good, and they have incredible desire to win. By the time you get to 8-9, you?re facing really good teams.
continue great learned miss people question shots student
Marcus made a mistake, like every other student on this campus. I don't feel there's any question that Marcus has profited. Some people miss shots and continue to miss shots because they don't learn. Marcus has learned a great deal.
everybody foul shots starts team
It's contagious. Once a team starts missing, everybody misses. And we're not making foul shots right now.
joy
It's something they probably couldn't have imagined. There is joy in Fairfield County, I'm sure.
athletic came difference quite
The difference between the two teams, quite frankly, was we're a little more athletic and a little more experienced. That's what it came down to.
maybe minutes shake took
It took us 30 minutes to shake them, maybe 35 minutes.
ben question win
There's no question we don't win this without Ben Gordon.
