couple good kids supposed wondering
For the first time, I'm wondering if a couple of our kids are as good as they're supposed to be. They were in Maui, and they aren't now. Marquette had a lot to do with that.
basketball coach college outside sitting unless values
If I haven?t changed, then I know I wouldn?t be sitting here today, ... You don?t coach college basketball in the 70s, 80s, 90s, and now the 2000s, unless you make changes. The outside wrapper is probably a little different, but the values are the same.
basketball biggest city embodied finds guys indiana inner kid kids mean murphy nba pickup pictures playing pure shooting stuff takes walk wealth wilt wonders
I can still see Calvin Murphy getting 62 points, and I can still see flashbacks from the pictures of Wilt getting 100, ... You go from the biggest to the smallest. The wonders of the game, from the guys playing pickup to the kids shooting in Indiana to the inner city kid who finds a way out through the sport of basketball - and I don't mean necessarily to the NBA - are embodied in this game. It doesn't take wealth or pure size. It takes heart, repetition, talent. All that stuff is embodied in the game. When I walk through that building, it's embodied there.
basketball college committee east goes home ncaa plays team terrific veteran
I don't think the Big East or college basketball or the (selection) committee should feel any embarrassment if that team goes to the NCAA Tournament. (But) we were home and Denham, some of our veteran players, Rashad, etc., they made some terrific plays down the stretch.
helped particular player points team
I don't think there is a player on the team at particular points that won't be helped by Marcus being back.
anybody hot missed played points
I don't think anybody I've ever had could get as hot as he can get. The other night, if we had played him 28, 29 minutes, he would've had over 40 points and I don't think he would've missed a 3-pointer.
built
That's something that should never happen. We've built too much up over the years for something like that to happen.
answering difficult inside time
That's something you really have a difficult time answering in the sense that you can't get inside the team's mind.
special
It is special. It's even more special because of what's at stake.
brown coach great kids knows opportunity time win
It's a great opportunity for us and a great opportunity for Albany. I think coach (Will) Brown knows what a win can do and his kids know what a win can do. It's a great time of the year.
bad drops gives guy pass surrounded three throw
I told him I had him for a triple-double: 11, 11 and 11. The statistician, when you throw that bad pass to the guy who's surrounded by three people, gives it (turnover) to the guy who drops it. I don't.
incredibly kid talented
I told him he has to be more assertive. He's an incredibly talented kid but a very young kid. I think at times he's unstoppable.
minutes waited worth
I told Rashad he only waited 38 minutes for that three. It was worth the wait.
beat fear good greatest indicative league might ourselves records talking teams truly
Everybody's talking about how many teams we'll send. Let's see if we can get out of the league first. My greatest fear is that we might beat ourselves up so much that records won't be indicative of how truly good a team is.
