ask changed choice couple game incredibly kids last minutes plays three trust whatever
It?s not Rashad?s fault, trust me. Whatever we ask our kids to do, it?s our responsibility. We make the choice of who plays who. ... I?m incredibly, incredibly disappointed in the loss, incredibly disappointed in myself. I would have changed a couple of things probably the last two, three minutes of the game and into overtime.
bigger chance close clutch crunch guys player seems
We may have guys close to or equal, but no one's been better, ever, at making clutch shots. He's made bigger 3's than any player I've ever had. When it comes down to crunch time, he makes shots. It seems to me the bigger the shot, the better chance he's going to make it.
ask
If you ask me how I got here and why I coach, ... there's your answer.
came far fitting great handling horse jones played poor sat talked
It was really fitting that Denham had such a great game. He was a horse out there, as far as handling the ball, especially when Marcus played such a poor first half. We sat Marcus down, talked about the Dow Jones and some other things. He came back and got us going.
best certainly easily eight four himself instead perhaps
Rudy had perhaps his best all-around game. He was unselfish. Certainly he could have scored 30 himself very easily but instead had eight assists, five-six blocks, four steals.
allow battle certainly coming double factor game generally
I said coming into the game that it was going to be a battle of ... can they keep us away from the paint. And generally speaking, they were able to get us on the outside, keep us there with double teams, and certainly the way this game was called and played, it didn't allow us to be a factor in the paint.
cannot convince minutes point shut simply theory win
My theory is simply that there is no way you should ever shut off the engine. I do play to win as much as I can, for my kids. We play to win. But I can't convince them - and I should be able to at this point - that you have to play 40 minutes to win. You can't go to sleep. You cannot go to sleep.
ask coaching criticized himself shot took
He was magnificent down the stretch, making big shot after big shot. He criticized himself and really took it out on the team. From a coaching standpoint, you can't ask for anything more.
good guys kids pick run team top
They run very good offense. If you're not on top of your game, they've got guys on this year's team that can make plays. I think our kids are going to have to pick it up a level.
best quickness size utilize
They're going to utilize their quickness as best they can. We're going to try to use our size as best we can. That makes it a very interesting battle.
came far held player point remember
In all my years of coaching, I can't remember a player who came as far as he did at that point of his career. He should be held up as an example.
ask both coaches college passion special teams win
It was everything you could ask for in a college game. You had a special environment, passion on both teams and with both coaches ... I would have been disappointed if we had lost. We did enough things to win this game.
hear locker thrown tough words
I know Denham was very tough on them going into the locker room. I could hear it. There were a lot of words being thrown around.
ball gets people runner time
Marcus is not the scorer, but he is the runner of the team. He gets the ball to the right people in the right time at the right spots.
