confident course game nice playing
I probably just wasn't as confident and comfortable with my game at that point. It's nice to be back playing well and on a course I like so much.
everybody losing steps stevie williams
If Stevie Williams steps on the ball, he's not losing his job, ... I mean, come on, everybody makes mistakes.
last obviously tournament win
I'm obviously disappointed. It was my tournament to win again, and I didn't get it done on the last hole.
country event fans few gone places reaction seen stepping swing time
There have been very few years when I haven't gone out of the country to play an event or two. It's interesting to go to new places where fans haven't seen you play. The reaction to my swing is like stepping back in time 10 years ago.
air ball course difficult fly hit low needs played putting reason run shots wind
The reason this course is so difficult in the wind is it needs to be played in the air. You can't really hit a lot of low shots and run the ball up. You have to fly the ball. And putting the ball up in the air with wind makes it difficult.
boils
We had to go through off of this just to be tied. It all boils down to tomorrow.
blowing call major seen storm
Without a major storm blowing through, I haven't seen them much stronger. I wouldn't call this normal.
biggest forget gary jack kick line next side step
We were 3 up through four, and he was just chirping all the way around, ... I didn't know him well enough to know that side of him. And then on the next hole, Ernie and Gary pressed. I'll never forget what Jack said. His next line was, 'Boys, step into my office.' I got the biggest kick out of him.
bites course force jumps six start trying
You get off the first day and you're even through six and you want to start trying to push. You have to let things happen. If you force it and try to make those things happen, I think that's when the course jumps up and bites you.
due funk great partners tiger undefeated
To go undefeated this week, it's all due to my partners, ... I had two great partners (Fred Funk and Tiger Woods), and that's what it's all about. It's about the team.
backyards balls green
Having a Southwest Green in my backyard is a huge advantage for me on tour. I am pleasantly surprised just how true the ball rolls and reacts to chip and pitch shots. I love my Southwest Green.
moving golf play
There's going to be places where you can attack the golf course and there's going to be times where you've got to kind of bite your lip and play conservative and hit to certain spots on the green, get out of there with a par and move on.
bombs way tongue
I had a very well-respected writer ask me point blank to my face whether it actually mattered to me. Now, without wanting to reach out and just strangle him or send a few F-bombs his way, I just bit my tongue, told him he offended me and walked away.
golf years goal
My only goal is to look back at the end of each year and see that I have improved.
