advantage anywhere biggest pick pit road ways
In some ways I think pit road is more treacherous here than anywhere else, and having that first pit pick here is the biggest advantage in my opinion.
admit control finishes hands hate lead mind race
He is in control of the championship in my mind and I hate to admit that, ... If I go out and do all that I can and lead the race and lead the most laps, then it's just in his hands from there as to where he finishes and what happens.
complaints
I don't really have any complaints about the way he raced me.
bump bumper drafting knowing looking might picked race
The one thing I can say is that at the end of the race the bump drafting picked up, and looking at my bumper and knowing the bump drafting that I was doing, the bumper wasn't damaged. We might have to soften them up another notch.
competition deliver disrespect evil huge lack seen weird
Competition does weird things to people. I haven't seen a huge lack of disrespect or evil driving, but we're professionals and we know we have to deliver results.
benefit chiefs compare crew engineers together
Our (Hendrick) engineers and crew chiefs all get together and compare notes. That's when you really see the benefit of a four-car team.
accepting cleared days few followed gone happy inspection last people time understanding week won
You know, there's nothing I can do about it, so I'm accepting it. I'm happy to see that as these last few days have gone by, a lot of people are understanding that it was a qualifying infraction, and there was a whole week that followed ... that we then cleared inspection and won the race. It's time to look ahead.
call consequences flirting job line living step
We're all flirting with that line and when you step over that line, it's NASCAR's job to call you out on it. And they called us out and we're living with the consequences from that.
names racing style
I grew up racing off-road trucks. They were on road courses with jumps. I made a name for myself in that style of racing.
going-away pits championship
There's just a pit that develops in your stomach and doesn't go away. It's the championship pit, and it's there.
tired winning thinking
If the roles were reversed, I would be saying the same thing. As a competitor, you're tired of the same guy winning. I guess I understand where they're coming from and what they're saying ... I don't necessarily agree with it. I think it would be great for someone to win five straight.
racing
I didn't get into racing to make friends.
nice guy able
I was able to get through the field and get this Lowe's ProServices Chevy up front. Those last few restarts I was able to hang on and duke it out with those guys and get a nice, top-three finish.
pride racing things-i-love
The thing I love about off-road racing is the pride in how abusive it is.
