We try to teach more than just basketball. We try to touch the spiritual side of the players, too. That's why we used the twist about covenants. We signed a covenant stating that we wanted to be remembered. We used the scripture Habakkuk 2:2, where it says 'See a vision and write it clear and simple.' So we wrote it down, that we wanted to be remembered, signed it and started working and playing as such since then.

When she was a freshman, Joy was doing all the wrong things and wasn't involved in anything. She was headed down the wrong path. I grabbed her in the middle of her freshman year and told her she needed to play basketball. Since then, it's been a complete turnaround. She didn't start playing basketball until the second semester of her sophomore year, but she's been doing all the right things since then.
