break good hard last race team wins
Like I said, we're only off a bit, ... But it's so hard to break through that last bit. The No. 24 team has always been really good at it with all the championships and race wins he's had.
adjust bases collect collected consistent cover everybody feeling feet final kurt last races somebody spend tear three wins year
We know that you've got to collect points, ... Kurt (Busch) last year was very consistent and collected the most points. That's everyone's baseline. You go into the final 10, if somebody is on a tear and wins a bunch, everybody is going to have to adjust their game. But going into any series, you want to cover your bases and be solid. . . We'll go to Loudon and get our feet wet. We can spend our first two or three races just feeling things out to see where we need to be.
almost losing rather saw solid trouble winning
We're doing what we need to do, ... It's almost about not losing it rather than winning it at this point. We saw some hopefuls and contenders had trouble in New Hampshire, and I think that's the key. We got off to a good, solid start.
cars choose five nobody race says tear win
The thing I don't like, ... is the five Roush cars can go on a tear and nobody says anything, then we go out and win a race and so we've got to be cheating. It does get frustrating, but I choose to take it as a compliment.
tough wind
The wind was really swirling. It was tough at times.
best came considered felt front maybe played race sat stayed strategy team trouble win wish
I look at that and wish maybe we played the strategy that (Dale Jarrett) did where he sat at the back and stayed out of trouble and then came through and was even able to win the race, ... We considered a lot of things at Talladega and we felt like the best thing for our team was to race for the win and to be up front and stay out of trouble that way and it didn't really play out.
almost bad best continue daytona guys maybe proud race win won work
I'm proud of this race team. These guys continue to work their butts off through adversity, making the best of a bad situation. We almost won another race today. We're doing everything we need to do. We won the Daytona 500 and maybe we'll win the championship.
competing front great mark reason time wins
If you take a look at Mark Martin, he's been in the sport for a long time and at his age, the reason he's up front competing for wins and championships like he does is because he's in great shape,
moving winning cowboy
But I was always a bit of a gypsy, anyway. I spent five years at Oklahoma State, five years at Miami and moved on after winning the national championship, and five years with the Cowboys. So, I was ready to move on. We won back-to-back Super Bowls, and I felt that I accomplished what I wanted to accomplish.
came chad dedication front frustrated last people respect results win year
I think last year at times it was really frustrating and people could see that. But we were frustrated because we weren't getting the results that we wanted. I'll always respect Chad for his dedication and that frustration that came up. He just wanted to win and be up front and win the championship.
heading momentum
I think we're getting some momentum back and heading in the right direction.
effects good lingering next race start
I think that one of the good things in our sport is that there's always next weekend. You could see some lingering effects at the start of the next race weekend, but it disappears.
governor joey offense
I think this offense has got a governor on it. It's called Joey Harrington.
aggressive car everybody feels hit knows sharp short slide tracks
I think sometimes we hit short tracks and everybody feels that they can be really aggressive and slide the car around. Jeff, he's sharp and knows what to do and how to make the car last.
