It's a holiday, there's a lot of people there to cheer you on. There are not many empty spaces where there isn't anybody. It's good to feed off the crowd.

I was out of shape, so I began to run. In 1998, I entered the New York City Marathon, and the rest is history.

You hurt afterwards obviously, but the best part of a marathon is training for it, running with Hal and Lynn, and other people. The solitude of running allows thinking, it's my release from the frustration and pressure of working.
