He did his running and felt good, felt better. If he keeps progressing, we'll see where he's at. I know we have to make a decision on that tournament. We'll have to see.

Some guys get by with a lot of hard-hit balls that are outs, they get a ton of runs scored for them. You look further than just results. You see what they guy's featuring and that will tell you everything.

I don't see any evidence of guys pressing. We've had some good at-bats. We just have hit any long balls lately.

I suppose we could bring him back and let him pitch in Boston (next week) but he only threw 32 pitches the other day (against Triple-A Syracuse) and I don't think he'll throw a whole lot more (Thursday). I like keeping him on track to pitch on the 16th (at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago) without messing it up.

I don't think he lacks any (fire). He's a good guy. He's easy going, but I've got no problem with him. I just think his confidence isn't where it needs to be just yet. I think there are times he doubts himself.

It was good to see him out there. He was erratic in his command. But he's got such a good arm that he can pitch from behind in the count at times. It will be easier for him when he works ahead.

He goes through spurts where he'll pitch like that, and then he'll just overthrow and he can't find the strike zone. Nobody knows why, but when he's on, he's awful tough.

All we can do is hope he's not out a long period of time. It's unfortunate because we're expecting a lot out of him this year.

Our guys have been very confident swinging the bat. From top to bottom we've been pretty effective, and that's what you have to have. All the good teams do.

Anytime he goes out there, you know you can count on him. You look at the last couple years here, and he's always won for us. But he's always been the odd man out, too. He just forces his way in there, comes out and wins. There's something to be said for guys that are winners.
