happy last pitches stretched
I'm happy it didn't last too long. I'll be able to get stretched out and have 100 pitches going into the season.

Nolensville has been invited to the party, and they didn't show up to the dance.
guys hanging needed stand throwing
I wanted to make it stand up, keep throwing up zeros. We really needed this to get us started in the right direction, and to show those guys that we're going to be hanging around.

Any time you're playing a playoff-caliber team, it is always good to show well, because you don't know when you'll be seeing them again.
fight happens last ok spring time training won
The last time we got in a fight (with the Padres during spring training in 2002), we won the series. I'd be OK if that happens again.
confidence confident feels nice sign

bad fastball finishing

came cool elbow guard history jason keeping move plate
Jason has a history of being out on the plate and keeping his elbow guard on the plate. I told him to move it back and he came after me. I was surprised, but I'm cool with that.
add adds definitely good guy last pitching staff time
I thought our pitching staff was pretty good last year. Any time you can add a guy like Weaver, it definitely adds to your depth.
came cool elbow guard history jason leaning plate problem stuck totally trying
Jason has had a history of leaning out over the plate, trying to get hit. He stuck his elbow guard out over the plate and I told him not to. He had a problem with it, and he came out and got me. He has a right to do that, and I'm totally cool with it.
both glad season sides
I think both sides wanted to get it done before the season started. I'm glad we got it done, and now I can go pitch.
