Our trainer is working for the other team and says they're going to kick our (butts). He says they're younger and faster.

Riley is one of those guys that once he was in the lineup, he was hard to take out. He stands up for his teammates in the right situations and because he works so hard he keeps getting better and better. Whether he plays a little or a lot, he always brings energy to our lineup. He could play three minutes or take a regular shift and you always know he's out there. When a guy works as hard as he can, it has an effect on the people around him.

I wouldn't have accepted if I didn't have the powers I need. If teams don't comply, they're going against the common good, and if they don't, why won't they?

Fans want to see a winner, and when the home team wins, it's great. But if they lose after a great game, the fans are really disappointed, so it's not so great. And it's a tough way to lose a point. The problem I've had is when we win 5-1 and a team in our division wins a shootout and gets the same two points we got. That's tough to swallow.

I think that was one of the best teams ever. Carter and Richards clearly put us over the top, but we also had as many injuries as anyone in the playoffs and still kept rolling along.

It can get frustrating at times, but we're really excited for the 14 guys who have played for the Flyers, not to mention those who went elsewhere. You always want your players to get a chance. It's great when guys like Eager and Meyer get rewarded for continuing to work hard. And when guys go up, somebody else has to step up.

To me, there are two things. You can work and you can compete. Don't ever confuse working with competing. Competing for me is working with the will to get it done. Somehow, someway you're going to come up with a loose puck.
