I think today was a big learning day for us. Being the first day, we want to get used to the drills and everything that we're doing. Offensively, we're not changing a whole lot of what we're doing, but we got a lot of new terminology, and I thought guys handled it well.

Joe pulled around and just absolutely crushed the corner. I felt bad for that guy because Joe is just a monster.

I completely thought we would go down and score. Just a mistake on my part. I was trying to hit Jonathan over the middle, and their guy made a nice play.

Last year, you could really hear him on the other side of the ball. He was shouting a lot and telling guys what to do. This year, he's a little bit more quiet. He's just kind of observing everything.

I don't read the papers anymore. I stopped early last season. I don't need to deal with that. The only opinions I need to worry about are from the guys who are watching me day in and day out.

He's a guy that I think the sky is the limit for him. He's strong, he's fast and he just needs to get reps and get some confidence going and get to the point where he knows what he's doing inside and out so he can cut it loose. But hopefully he can get healed up and get ready to go.

Bernie is a great leader. He's a really vocal guy and really intense and you can see that in the huddle. You know he's going to go out there and lay it on the line for you, and you've got to do the same for him.

He wanted us to stay focused on the game and our opponents. But it's something all the players were aware of and we wanted to play well and thank him for everything he has done for us.

Coach is so classy that he never even talked about this being his last game. We wanted this game to be a way to thank coach for all that he's done for this school. This is coach's day.

Obviously, I like having O.D. out there, ... He's a heck of a player for us. A couple of those routes we knew were going to be good in the red zone.
