drunk minutes yeah
Having been familiar with "drunk" once or twice myself, that lick just came to me - and yeah, it sounded very drunk, so I presented it to Alice [Cooper]. It felt like he wrote the lyrics in about a minute.
writing home next-day
An actor shouldn't have to leave the set and go home and write a bunch of stuff for a bunch of other people, the next day. I found it very unpleasant.
morning muffins impossible
It's impossible to consider myself a producer. I can barely produce an English muffin, in the morning.
shaving want littles
When you had the fangs in, you wanted to be a little bit careful that you didn't actually pierce the jugular, kind of like my experience shaving Alan Rickman, which by the way neither of us want to do again, especially Alan.
ideas darkness erotic
I certainly had this fascination with monsters and vampires as did Tim and whatever this darkness, this mystery, this intrigue. And then, as you get older, you recognize the erotic nature of the vampire and the idea of the undead.
children eye artist
I've been lucky enough to work with a make-up artist, Joel Harlow, who you can throw anything at. I said, "Joel, I need to go to the London eye with my children and I want to look like a roadie from Lynyrd Skynyrd."
ideas people nails
Yeah, in every film that I've been lucky enough to do with Tim, there's always some form of torture, and the nails were Tim's idea. They were the length of the fingers and stuff, but it was okay because I had a troop of people who would help me go to the bathroom. They had to have treatment afterwards but they're okay now. That is true.
teacher ideas people
There were so many great teachers that had so much to offer. The idea of being rigid, why would you do that? People have their things, but why be rigid with any education when you can take things from here and take things from there?
land ships fine
Once you get on the ship, everything is fine. Once you get on land, everything is not so fine.
hero want let-down
They tell you to be careful because maybe you don't want to meet your heroes. I've met pretty much every one, and I've never been let down.
games air corners
You're looking at each and every potential corner for an air bubble to escape. Absolutely! You're on the best of your game.
people our-family brando
Marlon [Brando] showed me that you could do the work and not have to shut yourself off from people or your family.
acting good-times unicorn
There are these mythic unicorn-y tales of method acting, but Marlon [Brando] wanted to have a good time.
children dad loneliness
My children's favorite, and it's funny because they've seen it but they have a difficult time watching it because it's their dad and they make that connection, but Edward Scissorhands is, by far my kids' favorite. They just connect with the character, and they see their dad feeling that isolation, that loneliness. He's a tragic character, so I think it's hard for them. They bawl when they see that.
