A lot of the scene is pretty inbred as far as band members go. Lots of guys play in more than one band. There's only like 20 bands and everyone knows each other.

A lot of people look more normal than you'd think.

They had hard-hit balls and some that weren't, but found holes anyway. We hit the ball hard too, but we couldn't find the holes.
fighting opportunity relaxed waiting
I was pretty relaxed, more relaxed than I thought I'd be. But I've been waiting for this opportunity and I'm going to keep fighting to keep it.

I had some bad breaks early. You just can't give up two-out walks.

I made some mistakes and they hit it. Then I made some good pitches and they hit those, too. Some were hard hit, but others just found holes.

Everybody's inspired me and has helped me and is trying to point me in the right direction.
less stretch
It's not too much different. I kind of feel more comfortable out of the stretch now anyway. Less moments. It really didn't feel that much different.
fun
It's different, but it's fun. For now, I'm in the bullpen.
This could be a jump-start for any of us. A lot of us are young, it could jump-start us to something really good.

I'm excited about signing and I'm excited to get there. I'm not coming in there to look. I'm coming there to play.
I thought I pitched well enough to win. I went out with a lot of confidence, and that helped.

He's let people stay there before. I didn't think anything of it.

We knew it was going to be a big crowd. We come out, pound out 22 hits off a possible first-round pick (pitcher Brooks Brown) on Friday, then we couldn't put anything together against (Westphal).
