both guy opinion personal sides vote
My personal opinion is I will never as long as I have a vote, vote for a guy who doesn't play both sides of the field,
couple guys overthrow pressure
After a couple of guys got on and they scored, I put a little pressure on myself to really get them out. I think I started to overthrow it slightly.
affect balls chasing diving good grind guys hitter might vote
They don't go through the grind other guys go through defensively, diving after balls, chasing balls. If you make an error, it might affect you but if you're a DH, you don't go through any of that. You just hit. As good a hitter as he is, and he's one of the best, no question, I could never vote for a guy who doesn't do play defense.
control guys throw understand veteran wins
(Pat) Hentgen used to tell me: 'You can't control wins and losses, you can control what you do'. That's why I think for a lot of veteran guys they understand how important it is to throw a lot of innings, to get 200-plus innings,
chance consistent giving guys knew last pitcher proud
That's the one I was the most proud of from last season. Even when I was going through it, I knew it was kind of cool. I'm being consistent and I'm giving the guys a chance to win. That's what any pitcher wants.

I could never vote for a guy who doesn't play defense. They don't go through the grind other guys go through defensively, diving after balls, chasing balls. If you make an error, it might affect you, but if you're a DH, you don't go through any of that. You just hit.

I will never . . . vote for a guy who doesn't play on both sides of the field,
al david guys hiding hype known might power
Man, Travis is good. He's got power to all fields. He might not get as much hype as David Ortiz or guys like that. He's been kind of been hiding in the AL Central. But he's well known to us pitchers.
looked prove trying
I think just being who I am and the way I have always looked at things and the way I got to the big leagues, always trying to prove myself ... now it's a part of me and the only way I know how to go about my business.
fastball throw
I thought I located my fastball pretty well. I made some mistakes, but for the most part I think I did pretty well. If I can throw like I did today, then why can't I do it in a week? We'll find out down the stretch.
credit definitely strikes threw work zone
I think I threw more strikes than I got credit for. I was around the zone a lot. I definitely got my work in.
era innings late pitcher territory
When a pitcher has an ERA under 4.00 in this league, that's really good, ... To be this late (with his ERA) and to have 180-plus innings and an ERA under 4.00, that's all new territory for me.
closer good position
We were in a good position going into the ninth, and then we had our closer out there.
fourth gave good pitches run settled
We made some good pitches in the first, just not good enough. They scored another run in the fourth that was the game-winner. So as much as we settled down, we still gave it back up to them.
