government running
The last thing we want is politicians running newspapers, but so too we don't want newspapers running the government.
I've been a minister and I know how cautious you have to be.
born came cool coolest dad everybody ice kids parents
Ice Cube's the coolest dad. A lot of parents - a lot of kids do not think their parents are cool. Oh, no. My dad's cool... You know, I was born in 1991. That's when 'Boyz n the Hood' came out. So I've always see him on TV. I don't see everybody else's dad, you know. So I've always had a sense of, you know, he's cool. He's in the light.
Some of the regrets I've had about my own career are things I have not done that I should have done. More than some of the things that I've done.
thinking able groups
If you are a good writer - and I think I am - you are able to handle any kind of group and imagine their lives.
aunts mom six watched women
There was a group of six women in my household. My mom, aunts and grandma. I watched them in the kitchen.
people citizens privacy
We must restrict the anonymity behind which people hide to commit crimes. As citizens, we have a right to privacy. We have no such right to anonymity.
variation packaging albums
By packaging a full album into a bundle of music with ringtones, videos and other combinations and variations, we found products that consumers demonstrably valued and were willing to purchase at premium prices. And guess what? We've sold tons of them.
giving want albums
Any time that you can give the consumer more of what they want, it's a good thing. I said from Day 1 that the unbundling of the album is a good thing.
son schmucks
It’s the downside of a family business: anything good is because I’m somebody’s son; otherwise, I’m a schmuck.
hbo tv-shows wire
I forget sometimes that Im in the HBO stable because I am such a fan of so much of their programming. Like, The Wire is my favorite TV show of all time.
cocky men play
There's a screen direction in the script for the pilot where it says, 'Jim Harper, mid-20s, enters,' and it said something to the effect of: 'He's confident without being cocky. He has no idea that he could be considered attractive, because he saw All The President's Men when he was thirteen and never looked up.' It was just a great little gem of a screen direction, and I felt immediately from just that, that I had a good idea of how to play this guy.
asians familiar fondness great japanese love perhaps red tea therefore wines
I think the Japanese love young, tannic red wines much more than most Americans do. Perhaps it is because Asians have a great fondness for tea, and tea is a very tannic beverage. Therefore a young, tannic red wine is something familiar to an Asian palate.
