easier experience explain friday games grow kids learning meeting night
I told the kids in our meeting Friday night that we can't have any more freshmen. We have to grow up and become sophomores and juniors. It's easier to say than do. But you can't explain how important experience is. We just don't have a lot of it. These games are learning experiences for us.
continue feet guys offense run seen
He has better feet than I thought he'd have. We'll be able to do some things in the offense that I didn't think we'd continue to do. We've seen him run away from some guys we didn't think he'd run away from.
exactly people receiver staring taught
For people to say he's staring at the receiver ... in our offense, he's making his reads. He's doing exactly what we've taught him.
coach sean treat
I think he'll tell you we treat him like we didn't know who he was. I don't know if he appreciates that or not. We coach Sean very hard.
last needed plays weeks
For two weeks in a row, we did not make the plays when we needed to make the plays. The last two years, we were able to make those plays.
ability knows last learning matter offense saw year
He's just comfortable with everything. Last year was still a learning process. You saw he had all the ability in the world, much like Andy. At the same time, it's a process. It's just a matter of getting comfortable with it. Now he knows the offense as well as anybody.
alumni appreciate attribute best club good handle hour hours interest job leader listened opinions people pressure staff team telling watching work
My best attribute is that I handle pressure very well. My job is to see how good I can get this team to be. I went to the Touchdown Club one day, and I listened to all the different opinions from alumni and others. Then I said, 'I really appreciate your opinions, but I have no interest in them. It's kind of like me going to your work for an hour and watching what you do and then telling you how to do your job. My staff and I work 80 hours a week, and just because you think we should do this or that what kind of leader would I be?' I let the people know.
bad good news survive wants
The good news is, we'll be very fast. The bad news is, we may not survive physically. No one wants to play on that stuff. No one.
beat football good work
We were working through some things. And when you work through things and beat a good football team, so much the better.
against game last positions running sonny threw yards year
We put Sonny in positions last year I would never want to put a first-year quarterback. We threw 51 times against Maine, and he threw for 415 yards that day. We didn't have the same running game we had the year before or we'll have this year.
