I don't know if I have fully come to terms with the decision I've had to make. I'm a hockey player, that's what I do and that's what I want to do. I don't come by this decision easily but it's the right decision for my health.

Obviously, I feel better than I have. It's a huge hurdle for me and I feel really good. By no means does it change anything that I stated earlier. I'm just taking it one day at a time.

It's just a difficult decision and I haven't set a day where I am going to make any formal announcement. I know that making the decision, though, is in the not-too-distant future.

(Roenick) was always colorful and was always quotable and he'll be missed. But at the same time we all know Peter's track record and what he brings to the table. As much as J.R. will be missed, Peter will replace that and bring a lot to the locker room.

We didn't get away with it opening night. And you saw what happened in Toronto. Four-goal leads are not safe anymore. Every night you have to play 60 minutes. Maybe more.

We knew these guys were going to contribute. We didn't know they were going to be relied upon. They keep pushing through. I can't think of another team that depends on young players like we have.
line offense scoring survive
We're not going to survive with one line scoring goals. We need to get offense from other places.

Yeah. He had spent a long time in this organization. For us, it was sad to see him go. He was sad to go. He?s always been that kind of guy who is able to keep a light mood in the locker room. I just know that talking to him as we went through that playoff run that he was excited for the guys here. He really was. He is just that kind of guy -- a genuine kind of guy. But you could just sense that he wanted to be a part of it. And you just want those kind of guys in your locker room.
division eight teams
With the new system, we see teams in our division eight times and those rivalries, if they weren't in place, will be resurrected.
