They were hot early on, but we were hoping we could ride it out. They shot the ball well. They were really swinging it. That first quarter set the tone. Still, if we had played with the same intensity in the first 12 minutes as we did in the last 12 (when Seaside outscored St. Mary's 30-19) it might be a different ball game.

Guys it's simple. You've got to play defense and focus on finishing.

I think part of the problem was we were too anxious to play. And Prospect was a whole lot better than their seed (No. 11).

He's much better when you play him in person. That is one big strong kid.

I felt for these kids after that football game. Hopefully we can erase some of disappointment in basketball.

I felt if we went to overtime, we'd be OK. Two of their guys had fouled out.
