adversity emotion lots overcome playing plays spiritual teams total
As if it was an injury, teams have to overcome adversity. What you see is a team that's very spiritual and plays with a purpose. We were playing with lots of emotion and a lot of intensity. What I like about it is it's consistent. It was a complete, total team effort.
defense four transition
We were only up four (32-28) at halftime. We really tightened up our defense and we got some baskets in transition and we didn't let up.
breathing calmed defense gave hitting picked shots tempo
Reyes hitting those shots calmed us down and gave us breathing room. Our first-half defense then picked up the tempo and Payne and Harden just tag-teamed them. But they have been doing that all year.
guys minutes people quality
Other people are going to have to play better. Other guys are going to have to get some quality minutes and make some plays.
edison ended good match
Edison is a really good team, and we were never able to match their intensity. In hindsight, it ended up being a wake-up call.
happy kids memorable year
This has been a memorable year for me personally, and the kids will look back 20, 30, 40 years from now and be so happy they were part of something so special.
They're very talented, and they're deep. They're experienced. They play very well together, and they have size.
certainly challenge incredible northern present teams
They present an incredible challenge to our team. I certainly see them as one of the better teams in Northern California.
area bay couple definitely hear motivation pick sacramento
You pick up a couple of Bay Area papers, and they've got Sacramento favored. You hear things like 'They didn't have Galloway.' That's definitely motivation for our team.
defense gets hard
Defense is hard work. A lot of times it gets unnoticed.
defensive knew looked struggle
The way we were defending, I knew we'd be around. It looked like it would be a defensive struggle.
hard helped pays shows success thrilled work
I'm just thrilled for him. It just shows you that hard work pays off, and his hard work helped us with our success this season.
accept basketball behalf coaches flattered honor quality reflection talented
I'm flattered by the honor, but I'll accept it on behalf of our whole staff. It's a reflection of the quality coaches I have around me and the talented basketball players.
aggressive anybody blossom grown role starting tougher
I just think he's grown into his role more and more, and he's become aggressive. He's tougher and more aggressive this year. He's starting to blossom at the right time. He anticipates defenses as well as anybody I've ever coached.
