There was really nothing I could've done. It was way too early to be going five wide. I was minding my own business in my own lane. It's just one of those deals. We got clipped in the back by (Edwards) -- not his doing. He didn't have much room.

It's not that there were some (penalties called) that were or were not necessary. It's just that they are judgment calls that may or may not need to be made and they made them. We just have to go on. We finished where we finished.

If a young kid 12 or 15 years old wants to sign with a big-name team, more power to him. That just means that he's been recognized at a young age and that he's got the ability there that the team has been looking for.

I really wanted to create my own identity and not be so closely linked with my brother, so I chose to go with Hendrick. But there's no question that my big break in the sport came about because of Kurt. At the same time I wouldn't be here if I couldn't hack it. I plan on being in the Chase next year.

Right now, it's a time for our team to shine. What we're doing to this year is something very special -- to hopefully backup our championship. It's fun to work with everybody right now and see everyone pulling together.

It's one of the things that you fight though when your car is good enough to win, your teammates car is good enough to win, too. It's a tight spot to be in, but as far as the team orders or anything, there was none of that.

The guys are doing an unbelievable job, ... I didn't think the lap was all that good, but it held up. We've really been running well here as of late. Hopefully we can keep it going the rest of the year.
