In my situation, I've always tried just to worry about what's right in front of me, that day's meetings, that day's practice, ... I think it's definitely possible. There's a difference in mentality in preparing for a game as opposed to practicing and lifting. When you rest mentally, at this stage of the game, it can be just as beneficial as getting physical rest.
