control fulfill involved retire stay took
Health-wise, I'm better off than I was when I took the job, I wasn't in control of that. I want to retire here. I want to fulfill my contract, and I'd like to stay involved as long as they'll have me.
against league played
He played like the MVP of the league against us.
cares confident focus hopefully itself losing loyal streak truthful trying work
I don't want to get into that. I just know how much Mr. (James) Dolan cares for him and how loyal he is. Hopefully this thing will play itself out. I'm confident that he's been truthful and things will work out. Again, we're on a six-game losing streak and I know he cares about that a lot. That's what we're trying to focus on.
equate guys money worry
I don't worry about what guys make. You worry about the contribution they make to your team. That's the thing that's most important. Because guys are making a lot of money doesn't always equate to wins.
expect fair highlight point
He's not a point guard, ... Right now, he's a highlight film. And it's not fair to him right now. We didn't expect him to have to be our point guard.
aggressive american-coach basketball nearly ways
He's not nearly as aggressive because of his shoulder. But you don't want to look for excuses. We've got to look for ways to get better.
goes overboard trying
He sometimes goes overboard trying to do what I want him to do.
camp terrible training
He's in terrible shape, but that's to be expected. This is like training camp for him.
improved player
He's improved more than any player I've ever coached.
coach run
I can't coach anymore. I want to run a team.
buy determines guy practice
I don't need a guy who doesn't want to buy in. How you play, how you practice and how you act determines how much you play.
behind change dirty foul guys hard issue trying
I don't look at it that way. I don't think any of them are guys trying to make a hard foul or a dirty foul. They're trying to set a screen. The issue is, when a guy comes up behind you, you can't see, so you can't change direction, and you're going to probably take a blow.
care holes taking worry
I don't look at it like that, ... I've been in holes before. My whole thing is to see if we can get better. That's the key. I don't worry about the record. I worry about us getting better. And if we get better, things usually have a way of taking care of themselves.
coach taught teach trying wrong
I don't look at it like I'm on them, I'm trying to teach them, ... When they do something right I try to tell them they do something right. When they do something wrong you try to coach them. This is the way I was taught and the way we've always done it.
