both defensive fought last minute night rebound
I thought he did a lot better. He rebounded much better the other night; last night he got his first defensive rebound with a minute to go. But I thought he fought them both on the post.
both early hard help please quality trying
I thought early on they were both tight. I think right now they're trying too hard to please me. I told them to take quality shots, as many as they can get, and by doing that you'll help everybody.
guys hard kids leaders older respect role though truly
I think when your older guys are your leaders and don't play, sometimes it's hard for young kids to really, truly listen, even though they all have so much respect for him. Now that he is playing, I think his role probably has changed. I think (he leads) more by example.
five good last learn minutes points seem teaching
I was concerned. We made those last five minutes seem like a year. But there were a lot of good teaching points in that. We had breakdowns but managed to get a win. We can learn from it.
ball case loose rarely shot turn
I think that's been the case all year. We don't take anything away defensively, we don't get loose balls, we don't get long rebounds. You rarely see us get a steal. And then we turn the ball over so many times without getting a shot and if you have any deficiencies at all on defense, you're getting killed in transition.
anybody blame blames defend worried
I was worried about Kendra. Antonio told me that's why he went into the stands, to defend his wife. ... We could have used him out there (on the floor). I don't blame him, though, and I don't think anybody blames him.
enthusiasm fight horrified looking proud
I was just looking for something to give us enthusiasm and effort, ... I would have been horrified if they didn't fight back. But I was proud of the effort.
acted chest ovation point points pump standing trying
I was just trying to point out to him, you get a standing ovation and pump your chest and Allen's got 25,000 points and he acted like (it was) no big deal.
love
I think they love being in this environment. I didn't read what Isiah said, but he never .expressed that to me.
caught energy evaluate examine game matched number
If you don't examine yourself after every game there is something wrong. I don't get too caught up when we win. I don't get too caught up when we lose. But I do try to evaluate where we're going. ... And then the thing that I never thought I'd see, I don't think we've matched our opponents' energy in a number of games. That's disturbing.
believe commitment defensive detroit effort good san team terms toughness
If you don't really play hard, you have no chance. Can we be the kind of defensive team San Antonio or Detroit are? No. I don't think we have the personnel. Can we be a good defensive team? Yes. I really believe we've lacked the commitment in terms of effort and the toughness in terms of having a mind-set and a trust.
guys happy
If you look at every team, the guys that play are going to be happy and the guys that don't play are going to be unhappy,
guard looked points
It's the same old same old. We can't guard anyone. They got 33 points on the break. It looked like that could have had 100.
both great opportunity reward
It's been a great series. It's a great opportunity for both teams, ... The reward is incredible.
