Lauryn Williamsis a track and field sprint and bobsled athlete of Trinidadian descent, competing internationally for the United States. She was the gold medalist in the 100 meter dash at the 2005 World Championships in Athletics and won silver medals at the 2004 Athens Olympics, 2007 World Championships and the 2006 IAAF World Indoor Championships. Allyson had the option of running and she wasn't very comfortable as the first leg. No one is upset abut not being able to run the relays.
It's my way of acknowledging those less fortunate who have suffered through the devastation of the hurricane season this summer.
