It was hard to move ahead career-wise when my children were younger. I worked part-time. When I went back on track, it was harder because even though I worked part-time, people assumed that I had been out of the game. It's a little more open now that my children are older. I can focus more on my research or on writing articles than I could before.

Because my life is so full, I'm usually focused on the present and not the future. But now I have to start making sure we put away enough money. There's never enough money and there's never enough time.
