good guys head healthier main opportunity ten truth
The main thing is we did not come out and slop around. I thought we did a lot of very good things, but the truth is we had the opportunity to play a lot of guys and get some guys healthier before we head into the Big Ten season.
athlete athletics field finest seen
The finest athlete I've ever seen on the field as a quarterback.
guys passed test true
The true test of leadership, ... always comes when things go poorly, and these guys passed the test.
closer factor noise practice work
The idea is to try to do as much in practice as you can to simulate the noise factor and the communication, how much closer you have to listen. We'll work on all those things. We'll do everything we can.
amount both huge last positions spent time work
The idea was he would work at both positions this spring, much as he did last fall. He spent a significant amount of time at the quarterback position. That's a huge disappointment for us.

There is no better leader in collegiate athletics than Tom Brady.
chad good great last
I thought Chad did some great things in there. That last touchdown, it was a great drive. He scrambled for significant yardage and on the touchdown; he did some very good things.

LaMarr Woodley played the best game since he's been at Michigan. I said they've improved.
eyes football game jon michigan missed next room saturday talked tears thinking training
I went into the training room after the game and Jon had tears in his eyes as I talked to him, ... I said, 'You must be in unbelievable pain.' He says, 'No, I was just thinking next Saturday is going to be the first Michigan football game I have missed in 30-some years.'
booth conference decisions ended guy instant nobody plays position reviewed season since taken ten whether
I will say this about replay, and I've taken this position since the season ended when we had a Big Ten conference call. If they're going to have instant replay, they've got to have a coach's challenge. Otherwise, you've got a guy in the booth nobody knows, and he makes decisions on whether plays should be reviewed or not, and we get no explanation.
balance both challenge course difficult finds good great opens run surrounded ten time yards
I think they have great balance, and any time you have great balance, it's a much more difficult challenge to defend. Pittman has had an outstanding year; over 1,100 yards in ten games. I think he's tough, has great vision, finds the hole, and of course he's surrounded by a lot of good people. When you're complimented and you have the balance to both run and throw, then it opens everything up.

If you look back on games you held them to field goals, you won,

It was a Sunday or a Monday in terms of game-week preparation, and those are days we do not practice. It worked out perfectly.
