I just forgot to let off the gas one lap. I ran 74 good laps and one bad one. I went all the way into turn one wide open. I let off the gas and stomped on the brakes. When I saw Russ's wheel, I knew I had lost the Classic. I knew we were going to finish second. I knew I had let my friends and family and fans and everybody down.

The car's old. It's like 13 years old. I finally got the old engine back in it. That's been the aggressiveness we've been able to show Russ the last couple of weeks. I love racing him wheel to wheel. I just wish I could've run one more lap with out a mistake. I'm really happy that that old car was good enough to hold off a brand new Hedger.

I could hear Russ, but I couldn't see him. Russ knows that about me like I know that about him. If I had seen him out there I would've left him the room to run the outside. It was a tough deal. I felt the tug and knew who it was. I had been watching the scoreboard. I hate to do that to Russ and would never deliberately do that. He knows that. We have a lot of fun together. I would never put the boot to Russ. It would've been a good show if we'd of had a better car I'd really love to come back here next year and run Russ for the championship.
