I just like to sing for people who have lost love.
You can be labelled but if it doesn't speak to people then it won't work. The social media and online has been really important. Fans are really smart too: they don't want to hear something manufactured or something that has too much marketing behind it.
They told me never fall in love, It never works out in your favor. You way too young and right now that's just human nature.
If you're an artist who's built on marketing and hype then most likely I won't listen to you.
When you feel sad, it's okay. It's not the end of the world. Everyone has those days when you doubt yourself, and when you feel like everything you do sucks, but then there's those days when you feel like Superman. It's just the balance of the world. I just write to feel better.
I don't really leave my house too much, 'cause I don't like... it's funny, I don't really like to be high and famous at the same time.
I think that with the Internet, it has given a lot of people the opportunity to get themselves out there to the masses. But it's easy to group everyone that's on the Internet together. I try to cross and jump around between genres and different styles, kind of find my own niche.
When being unable to differentiate a good from a bad decision:it has become time to follow your heart.
I'm 21 years old and I think that I've got a lot of perspective in life.
If you model yourself after Lawrence Fishburne, you can never go wrong.
The blogs have been great and everything, but I think, for me, it's better to have a central place on the Internet for all my fans to go and show their friends my YouTube, Twitter, and social networking sites. To have that spread all on its own and have a central station to get everything Mac Miller.
People don't really give me much anymore, and for good reason. I have to pay for a lot of stuff now, I can afford a lot more than I ever could before. No one really gives me anything anymore, but it feels good.
I was never just a 'fill in 16 bars on a beat' rapper. I was making real songs from the jump.
I always thought I'd look corny in the type of rap video in the club with girls and all that type of stuff. I just didn't think I could really pull that off. We always think it's more fun and better just to go outside the box and to use our videos to show cool concepts.
