Mark Alan Buehrleis an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He began his Major League Baseballcareer with the Chicago White Sox and started the opening game every season from 2002 to 2006 and again from 2008 to 2011. He's outgoing. He's never in his office, ... Some managers are stuck in their office and don't socialize with everyone else. He's out here joking around, laughing, keeping everyone loose. I think it starts with him, as far as keeping our team loose.

It wasn't him just going off and getting in people's faces. He did grab our attention, especially when he said if he has to have another meeting, it's not going to be fun. He said there will be a lot of guys getting shipped out of here, and he's going to air a lot of guys out.

It's funny. In the spring, a lot of people had us finishing fourth or fifth in our division. Some people had Detroit finishing ahead of us, and a couple had Kansas City finishing ahead of us. It just shows you the way our guys came out and didn't care what people thought.

I like to get out in the woods as much as I can to get my mind away from baseball and kind of get away from everything. It's nice to get out there and listen to everything, the wildlife and the smells.

If he's such a team leader, then why is he on so many teams? He's on a different team every year. I really don't think he was one of our leaders last year. He came to the field, and there wasn't anyone else that came ready to play and hustle as much as he did during the season, but I think he might be a little mad because he's not on our team anymore. I don't know.

They're scrappy, ... and they don't try to do too much. They put the ball in play. When guys get on, they hit and run, steal, distract the pitcher. They go out and do everything they can to produce a couple of runs.

I would do it if there was no one in here. It's more fun for me. I used to do it when I was a little kid, in the back yard in the summertime. I would go out there all day without anyone in the stands.

The faster you work, the better off you're going to be, ... I just don't see any reason to go out there and waste time. Just get out there and throw the ball.

One day, I'll hopefully pitch here in St. Louis. I love Chicago right now, and if they signed me to a lifetime deal, I'd sign it. But if I get the opportunity to put that (Cardinals) uniform on for at least one game, I'll do it.
