Mark Schmidtis an American college basketball coach and the current men's basketball head coach at St. Bonaventure University. He took the job at the start of the 2007–08 season after holding the same position at Robert Morris University. During the 2008–09 season, he led St. Bonaventure to a 15–15 record, and an appearance in the Atlantic 10 postseason tournament, the school's first since 2005. We were slow, sluggish. It was like we didn't have our legs. It was like the harder you try, the harder you play, the worse it gets. It wasn't smooth.

We can't worry about what just happened. We have to look forward to the future. We have to keep on improving and not getting complacent, not feeling comfortable.

We have to stay focused on Monmouth. We have to protect our home court. That is so important in this league.
closing equal great job playoffs situation teams tough
We've been in that situation before and we haven't done a great job of closing out games. It was a tough shot. When it comes down to the playoffs and two teams have equal talent, a lot of it's luck.

We don't have anybody in Moon Township who's 7-2, 320 pounds. I don't think there's anybody in Pennsylvania who's 7-2, 320 pounds.
francis good hard itching job seem slow stopping time
We started off too slow and didn't seem to have our legs. I think they were itching to play because of the time off, and it was hard to get back into it. But give St. Francis credit. They made a run, and we didn't do a good job stopping it.
foundation four guys needed reminded sure
Those four guys are the foundation for this team, and I wanted to make sure we were all on the same page. They needed to be reminded of my expectations. They are the spokesmen for this team.
