ended expected great nobody picked proud starter
We made great progress. The expectations were low. We had only one starter back. We were picked 10th. Nobody expected us to be here, so I'm really proud of our effort, but you're disappointed the way it ended up. Being up 49-45, you had a chance.
call dead last minutes playing start until whatever
We really didn't start playing until the last 15 minutes of the game. I don't know why, but we were dead in the first half. We just didn't have that jump, that step, that whatever you call it. That energy. We didn't come out with any energy.
game slow start worst
The worst thing you can do in a game like this is come out and start slow and let them think they can compete. We showed them they wouldn't be able to compete.
believe gets kid mature smart starts stronger until
I believe he will make an impact. Now, how big an impact? We won't know until he gets here and starts playing. But this kid is talented. He also is a smart player. He will mature and get stronger once he gets here.
coming guy impact jump less score start time
I think for a young guy like Colson, coming off the bench, there is less pressure. You get to see what is going on and then can come in and give us a jump start which he has done. I tell him all the time that you don't have to score a lot to have an impact on the game.
line played
I think we got the line a lot more than we have been. We played more aggressively.
found francis partly plays pleased took
I think it took us a while to get going partly because of the layoff and partly because of what St. Francis did. I am pleased we found a way to win. We made some big plays at the end.
goes history kids ranked state toughest tournament
I think this is the toughest tournament in the history of Colorado. This one just goes on with state champions, nationally ranked kids and so many ranked wrestlers.
found guys
Our guys were really gutsy. Somehow, some way, they found a way to win.
everybody time
We're a little banged up, but everybody is banged up this time of year. No excuses.
feeling forward future improving worry
We can't worry about what just happened. We have to look forward to the future. We have to keep on improving and not getting complacent, not feeling comfortable.
carrying game great jeremy job plan quick sit
Our game plan wasn't for A.J. to get two quick fouls and sit out. Jeremy did a great job carrying us in the first half.
days deal five francis gets gone home hours learn leave northeast situation toughest travel trip
(Robert Morris) and St. Francis have the toughest travel. There are times we are gone for five days at a time. We just got back from a two-game trip and were home for 24 hours and had to leave again. That gets tiring. But we have to learn to deal with that because that is the situation we are in being in the Northeast Conference.
difference energy gave played terrific
I thought he was the difference in the game. He got rebounds. He defended. He gave us energy. He only played 13 minutes, but they were 13 big minutes. He did a terrific job.
