I would not say we're at 100 percent. We're still in the process of rebuilding our infrastructure. But in terms of the department's responsiveness to the community, we are functional.

It's still very much a work in progress. It would be premature to talk about any part of the plan until it's been reviewed and approved by everybody.

I'm the jokester in the office. I'd move stuff on his desk and he didn't like that. He was ready to call the crime lab to find out who messed with his desk.

Out of 1,750 officers, we're looking into the possibility that maybe 12 officers were involved in misconduct.

It was a chaotic time for the city. Now that we've had a chance to reflect back on that situation, we're able to say right now that things were not the way they appeared.

We're multitasking right now. Rescue, recovery, stabilization of looting, we're trying to feed the hungry.
adverse hard officers persons tribute
We have approximately 1,450 commissioned persons who are working under some very adverse conditions. It's a tribute to those officers who are working very hard to do the right thing.
