achieve achieved anymore caught coming great high hungry noticed success tour win
I think before when I was first coming out on the tour and young, you know, you're very hungry to achieve and to have success and to make money, to win tournaments, to get a high ranking, just to be noticed and get contracts. All those kind of things you just get caught up with. For me now it's different because I have achieved a lot of great things in my career. I don't play for those things anymore now.
bit confident felt match second surprised win
I felt confident in the second set when I went ahead. I thought I was going to win the second set, then felt pretty confident if I did that I would win the match in the third. A bit surprised ... that didn't happen.
hold knew needed win
I knew I needed a hold to win that match,
against beaten fought gave great nice struggling win
It's always nice to win against someone you haven't beaten before. I know Justine has been struggling lately, ... She's such a great opponent, such a great lady. I just gave everything I had tonight, fought and didn't give up.
against beaten bit feeling nice tired win
It's always nice to win against someone you haven't beaten before, ... I know Justine has been struggling. She's probably not feeling too well, a little tired and a little bit injured.
winning expectations stuff
Winning a Grand Slam changes everything. There is so much off-court stuff to deal with. And there are expectations of keeping it going that make it tough
athlete definitely experience mentally
I think I'm definitely all-around a better athlete and a competitor, with experience and maturity, ... Mentally I'm stronger.
gave maybe waiting
Maybe she was waiting for my mistake. But I just capitalized on those opportunities she gave me.
courts hard incredible kim
Kim has been incredible on hard courts this year.
whether
I think it is possible. Whether it happens, I don't know.
grand situation weirdest
weirdest situation that I've ever experienced in a Grand Slam.
defensive focused happy played serve shots
Nathalie played very well, especially her defensive game. Sometimes, her shots were just too good, so I just focused on being aggressive. I was happy that I was able to serve out the match.
beaten played twice year
We've played twice this year and I haven't beaten her, but I'll just give it my best.
We'll see what happens. I'll just give it my best.
