It feels awesome. I'm so honored. I don't know how to describe it. I was really surprised and mostly honored to be recognized for the hard work I do.

I had been teaching all day when I found out. My brain was not working. I was very surprised because I had already won twice, and didn't think it would happen a third time. I really feel honored to be respected as a leader in the teaching community and also in my community at large.

I didn't know a lot of the teachers at all when I came. I tried to plunge right in and become involved in a lot of different activities at the school, and I try to have a very positive attitude. Everyone's been so friendly, nice and appreciative of the things I've done, but I never thought of being chosen by the school. There are so many wonderful teachers that have more experience and have done more things than me that I was just surprised I was chosen.
