I think we have a group that gets it more than we have in the past.
More than anything, you're just trying to execute each play as it's called and have good tempo, have good rhythm, have good enthusiasm.
It was a dream come true. I remember being at that game. I remember when he blocked a kick in that game. It's probably one of my favorite memories of all time.
Had I been a first-round pick -- which never would have happened -- and they made me play, I wouldn't have done any good. I would have been bad. So I wasn't ready. So it's kind of a blessing in disguise for me.
He didn't have to be that guy. He was my backup and he was the most supportive guy on the team.
Arm strength, I think, is a thing that's, like, incredibly overrated in the NFL.
It obviously helps playing at home with our crowd into it the way they were today.
He was a great tight end. I bet him 100 bucks that he'd play tight end for us some day, and I lost the bet. I paid him 100 bucks. I wrote him a check. When I did it, it was more of 'You're a heck of an athlete. Whatever you put your mind to, you can get it done.' That's really what I was trying to say.
For our team, it was we should really just go out and play to make our parents proud, so to speak.
Robbie's here, he's earned it, it's a great honor. We joke about it at home, but he's got to be the leader of the offensive line out here.
I know where Mike's coming from when he says, 'Focus on what you can control,'
It is hard when he is not able to practice. Even though there is that chemistry there, it is still tough. Having him back, and really having the whole team back, was great.
Like we've all seen, Shaun Alexander plays his best games in the spotlight.
I know where Mike's coming from. He really wanted me to focus on what I could control. But the simple fact is those guys are very different, and I haven't played with them.
