Maxwell M. "Max" Scherzeris an American professional baseball pitcher for the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball. Scherzer has also played in MLB for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Detroit Tigers. In 2013, he won the American League Cy Young Award. It's a funny game. Sometimes it's the little things that don't go your way. As a pitching staff, we are just going out there and try to throw up zeros because we know we want the next guy to go up and put up zeros. Everybody is trying to pull up each other.
For the time being Scherzer gives Washington a very nice rotation (on paper) with Stephen Strasburg, Jordan Zimmerman, Gio Gonzalez, and Doug Fister, with Tanner Roark — a five-win player with a .2.85 ERA in 2014 — presumably sliding into the bullpen.
